If I'm going to talk about bands on this blog I can't avoid those guys; they're called Bubblegum Screw, I met Mark, the lead singer, through my friend Lucy and they fucking rock, I've seen them live about 10 times, they know how to fire a stage and how to party too.
Mark Thorn is a mix between Iggy Pop and Mick Jagger, he's out of control on a stage and it's a nightmare if you're trying to catch him for a picture. But his energy is one of the key thing in Bubblegum Screw performance.
When you listen to them you got this old school feeling you're back in the 70's, specially with "Rock n roll looser" and they have this dirty and ugly attitude that you can't never get enough, always asking for more.
I had the pleasure to play on the same bill than them on the 27th of June at The Cavendish Arms when Rick Blaze was in London for his tour, and even if their crowd is more glam punk and ours would be more grungy alternative it was one of our best gig, because they know how to put a raw atmosphere in the air...
So if you're looking for some underground glam punk band in London, don't look further because those guys wouldn't disappoint you.

Those guys are Neon Diamond, same singer than Bubblegum Screw, Mr Mark Thorn.
They're not as powerful than Bubblegum Screw but there is something else that I like about their sound, it's more original, more unexpected and even more dirty. They have this Italian guy on the lead guitar who's got this incomparable style, he could play some Steve Vai songs if he wanted too, his name is Lenny Stella and I believe he could be big and his style could be recognizable too.
I saw them quite a lot of times too, actually the night I met Mark was on one of Neon Diamond's gig and I've been really surprised when I saw them. At that time I was listening to indie rock and it gave me a real slap in the face when I heard them because I think that's what I really needed at that time, some more violent sound for my too delicate ears.
